The Manor House

Delivering in both drama and beauty, the layout features beautifully manicured fairways across the rolling countryside that are lined by mature oak and beech trees, while undulating but immaculate greens add to its charms. The course – designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark – meanders around the River Bybrook and provides a stern challenge for experienced players while also being playable for beginners with a number of teeing options.

As players make their way around, they will experience dramatic drives and tee shots into valleys – such as on the delightful par-three second. Nearly 80 recently renovated bunkers add to the challenge throughout the layout, while the round ends with one of the finest home holes you will play with a narrow par four that takes you back to the clubhouse.

What makes The Manor House really stand out is its stunning off-course setting. Located in Wiltshire’s Castle Combe – named the prettiest village in 2021 – The Manor House estate dates back to the 14th century and simply steals the show.

There are luxury rooms and suites to retire to after golf in either the magnificent 14th-century Manor House, or its mews cottages along the lane into the village – all full of character and individually designed.

Accommodation is also available at The Castle Inn. A 12th century English pub with rooms, in the heart of the iconic Castle Combe village. Offering lower rates for a bit less luxury, but still with bags of old English charm.
