The Nicklaus Signature Golf Course opened for play in 1988 and is amongst the finest golf courses in Europe and certainly one of the most famous. The course was also the first European course personally designed by Jack Nicklaus. The course has 18 outstanding holes and measures just over 6,200 yards so even for the higher handicapper or shorter hitter is a pleasure to play.
Opened in 1976 The Old Course, as it was then called, quickly became a must play course and by 1979 was included amongst the elite by its inclusion on the European Tour with the hosting of the Benson & Hedges International Open. This was followed by two further tournaments as it played host to the Tournament Players Championship, which included a win for Bernhard Langer in 1983.
