The new St Patrick’s Links by Tom Doak opened in June 2021 and has taken the golf world by storm, debuting as the highest new entry at #55 in the GOLF Magazine Top 100 in the World 2021-22. Further testament to the initial World ranking in late 2021 this Doak design has risen 6 places to break into the World’s Top 50 at #49 in the 2023-24 GOLF Magazine Top 100 in the World rankings.

Three Stunning Links Courses
St Patrick’s Links
The Rosapenna Golf Resort acquired the St Patrick’s Links in late 2012, a former 36-hole facility developed by the Walsh Family of Carrigart. The Maheramagorgan Links designed by Irish architect Eddie Hackett and the Trá Mór Links designed by PGA Professional Joanne O’Haire, both opened for play in the mid-1990’s.
Sandy Hills Links
The Sandy Hills Links at Rosapenna opened for play in June 2003 and has matured into one of Ireland’s finest modern links courses. Where Old Tom settled for a course alongside the dunes, Pat Ruddy has gone straight through them from start to finish and created an awesome course that will test any golfer, yet somehow still seduce those that cannot live with it. Each hole is spectacular and the views across the Old Tom Morris Links toward the beautiful Sheephaven Bay will salve any wounds inflicted by this incredible golf course.
Old Tom Morris Links
In 1891, while a guest of Lord Leitrim at his nearby estate, Old Tom Morris of St. Andrews, a winner of four Open Championships in the 1860’s, took a drive to enjoy the Donegal scenery. Old Tom was quick to see the golfing potiental of this fine strectch of coast line and before returning to the home of golf he had staked-out the first Rosapenna Links, incorporating wide rolling fairways amidst the undulating terrain and of course those delightful greens.
Rosapenna, with a warm and friendly welcome creates a congenial atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy themselves in 4* comfort. The hotel has a range of accommodation types from Classic rooms to Bayview suites with commanding views of Sheephaven Bay. The hotel’s restaurant serves fresh fish each evening, much of it caught locally. Scallops, Lobster, Turbot & Crab are regularly on the menu. The hotel is set within its own two highly acclaimed links courses ranked 25th and 33rd in Ireland.
