The 18-hole course opened 4 July 2015. The original 6 hole course opened 14 July 1998.

Lofoten Links is a spectacular 18-hole links course which is beautifully situated on the island of Gimsøya in Lofoten. The course is located by the seaside with an unobstructed view to the North and the midnight sun. Playing and walking the course is a grand experience where the ocean is a water hazard on several holes and sandy beaches act as natural bunkers.

 

Midnight Sun Golfing and Northern Lights

From the end of May till the end of July, the sun never sets! Lofoten Links is one of the few courses in the world to offer playing golf in the sun for 24 hours, including up to 6 hours in the midnight sun!

From end of august until the end mid of October you can play golf at daytime and experiecen the Northern Lights at evning and night. Lofoten Links Lodges are one of the best Places to experience this Natural light show.

We offer both Midnight Sun and Northern Lights packages for the golf adventurer who would like to do something out of the orderinary and unique.

Course Details

The course has four different tees, offering enjoyment and challenges to ALL levels of golfers.

– Seaside links course – Par 71

– Tee 61 (Course Length 6092 m)

– Tee 56 (Course Length 5499 m)

– Tee 48 (Course Length 4804 m)

– Tee 42 (Course Length 4216 m)

– Clubhouse with accommodation, cafe, Pro-shop and rental clubs.

– Driving range, putting- and chipping greens.

Rich Norse history

The course is located at Hov on Gimsøy island. Hov is an old Viking place with many historical relics. Among others, there are two tombs from Viking ages on the course. Historians believe Viking chieftain Tore Hjort, who is mentioned in the Viking sagas, originated from this area.

A varity of birdlife

On Lofoten Links, bird lovers may discover rare and exciting species such as sea eagle, black-tailed curlew, grouse, oystercatchers, starlings, ducks and seabirds like cormorants, gannets and eider. The nest loon, red-throated diver, whimbrel and curlew are hatching on or in the vicinity of the course. Every year, large flocks of migratory birds as pink-footed geese and greylag geese are observed from the course.

We offer accommodation in brand new, high standard lodges just off the beach at Hov and they make the perfect place for your northern lights base camp or  your summer adventure in Lofoten. Experience all what Lofoten has to offer and come back to enjoy the northern lights or midnight sun right from the comfort of the sofa and warmth of the fireplace. The lodges are north facing with a spectacular view towards the northern lights in automn and winter, midnight sun in summer and the great ocean, which makes them unique in Lofoten

You can buy breakfast, dinner and lunch at the clubhouse or Restaurant Låven. Breakfast pr person: 195,- NOK, and must be booked the latest when checking in. We offer lunch and dinner at Restaurant Låven that is a short walk from our lodges.
